Your induction

It’s important that when you join Mothercare, you feel at ease as quickly as possible. Which is why you’ll undergo an intensive induction process to learn about our organisation, your team and the skills and knowledge you’ll need to succeed in your new role.

Retail Support Centre

Working here, we will provide you with comprehensive development opportunities that cultivate the knowledge, skills and abilities you need to meet your potential. We’ll set role requirements, so you know exactly what’s expected of you and a development plan that takes into account your strengths and development needs. Across the business we offer a number of different development opportunities – we have a detailed career development framework for our buyers and merchandisers; management and leadership programmes; and extensive core skills workshops designed to develop everyone’s personal effectiveness. You may even be seconded to projects here in the UK or Internationally.

Retail

As an instore Mothercare Customer Sales Advisor, your induction will be followed by continuous training within our Career Development Framework – a wide range of activities designed to build your skills, knowledge and confidence. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your expertise in our specialist product areas.

All of the store management team will follow a Retail Induction Programme. This will give you a good working knowledge of the Mothercare group’s products, policies, procedures and systems. As you progress you’ll have the opportunity to develop your management skills through instore training as well as workshop-based learning.
