An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Allocations Assistant to join the Mothercare UK team based in our Watford head office, reporting to the Space Planning & Allocations Manager on a 6 month fixed term contract.
The purpose of this role is to work within the allocation function in the UK ensuring that product availability is optimised through using owned stock the most effectively, blending own label stock held in NDC with call-off from UK based branded suppliers.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Optimise stock availability across all UK trading channels and proactively investigate any issues to fix underlying causes
- Review and action changes to replenishment parameters in line with store targets and forward weeks cover
- Maintain detailed relationships with relevant UK branded suppliers
- Monitor progress of Branded orders and intake to ensure stock flows through the supply chain quickly
- Manage stock effectively between UK selling channels to support commercial performance
- Effectively implement all promotional and sale activity and taking appropriate pre-emptive action to place stock in the best place for optimal sell-thru
- Manage the allocation of end of line commitment from suppliers and warehouse to maximise sales and minimise markdown
- Maintain good routine relationships with UK DC operations
- Work collaboratively with stores resolving any stock queries quickly and efficiently
- Maintain an awareness of critical path performance and any Global Brand product issues
- Maintain detailed relationships with relevant UK branded suppliers
- Provide all reporting on UK allocation and availability measures
- Maintain the administration of departmental files as required
About You:
- We are looking for somebody with great excel skills who can multi task and likes a challenge
- Having a Retail background is desirable but not essential
- You will be great with numbers and have an eye for spotting trends
- Commercial thinker who can do things in the most efficient way
- Great Organisational skills and able to manage own time
- Attention to detail is a must
